1. ON AN ORDINARY FRIDAY NIGHT
 

Intro: Just a plain ole Friday night in Manila , on a typically ordinary jeepney filled with regular folks going wherever. But things aren't what they seem, and suddenly a bit of magic enters the scene. (read it)

2. BIRD HUNTING
 
Intro: My editor rings and says he has an assignment for me. He heard there's a secretive girlie bar somewhere in Manila that's reserved mainly for expats. Always wanting to please the boss, I set out to see if I can find what promises to be an all-time Asian bar scene. (read it)
 

The illustrations in Hey,Joe, as well as the cover, were drawn by Vicky Villanueva Firestone. Vicky is a 1984 graduate of the Universtiy of Sto. Tomas in Manila, Philippines with a degree in Fine Arts. She is also the sister-in-law of the author.

Vicky also painted the cover of Ted Lerner's new book, "The Traveler and the Gate Checkers"
